in my head about the weather. It has been SO hot here. Try 110 for the last three days with 35% humidity. Right now it's only 10:30 and it's already 106. Our air has been working when it wants to which is not all the time. We have been spending a lot of time at my parents because you can't be in a house without air when it's 110. So last night was one of those nights. We arrived home at 9:15 to discover our air wasn't working and it was still 95 out. Way to hot to sleep there so I packed up the kids and off we went to Mom and Dad's.
Fast forward to this morning. the kids and I were saying goodbye (Scott stayed home last night so he could fix the air early this morning before it got hot, crazy I know!) and my Grandma is sitting in another room. She asks me "what is that?" I couldn't figure out what she was saying for a split second but as I am trying to decipher what she is saying I notice she seems a little blurry (I figured it was from lack of sleep). all of the sudden we start moving. EARTHQUAKE! Haven't had one in a long time. It was only a 4.8 but it really scared the kids. Brendan has never been in one and Kennedy was when she was little but she slept through it. The whole car ride home Brendan kept repeating "Momma, that was scary." It was probably a good thing it happened because I realized we have never talked to them about what to do in an earthquake. So now I am demonstrating what a door jam is and how we should go there in an earthquake. (Sigh) What a way to start the day!
