Still Here

I don't know why we have been SO busy lately. I don't feel like I have gotten anything done. Oh well. Friday night Kennedy had PALS night at preschool. That's when the Daddy's go and make crafts and play outside with the kids. Kennedy was so excited all week long! She was so cute on Friday night, I curled her hair so she had princess hair for her date with Daddy. I took a picture of them before they left and sent the camera with Scott so he could take pictures while they were there. He ended leaving the camera in the car so there are no pictures except for the one I took before they left. Here's the picture before they left...

Other than that, I don't think anything productive was done this weekend. Actually, Sunday Mimi asked me to help her with the ad campaign for Glen Ivy for Mother's Day. They are having a scrapbook theme, and she asked me to make a scrapbook page that they are going to use for their mailer. I am pretty excited about that because thousands of people are going to receive them in the mail. I am hoping to get my hands on one and when I do, I will post it. Hope everyone is having a great week so far! time to go clean the house.

Something Important

I know many of you do not scrapbook but, in the scrapbooking "world" there is a very creative and inspiring woman named Ali Edwards. If you have heard of her, hooray! If not let me tell you about her. She lives in Oregon and is a fabulously creative woman. The reason I am talking about her is because her son is autistic. So many children are being diagnosed with autism and usually it is boys. she is participating in a charity contest. It is called six degrees and is being sponsored by Kevin Bacon. He was on the Ellen show the other day talking about it. How it works is a person, such as Ali E. can pick a charity they support and make a badge. People donate to this badge in her name. On March 31, 2007 the person with the most donations, not monetary but number of people, will be declared the winner. The top six winners will have a match made up to
$10, 000 to their charity. How great is this!! Everyone wins because even if you are not in the top six the donation from your badge will still go to your charity! Is it already thursday?

Wow...this week flew by! I think all I have done is sit at the computer all week doing homework and trying to launch my invitation business. Lots of work! Oh yeah, Brendan has been sick this week too. Sunday night he was crying and crying and then started throwing up LOTS! Luckily Scott and I were standing next to the sink so we got him over the sink in time but then Tuesday night he started again. Not so lucky this time! All over the carpet, a trail to the sink, the counter and all over me! He got me from head to toe. Poor baby, still not sure whats going on, hopefully he'll feel better today. Nothing new to talk about, like I said I haven't been far from the computer this week! More later...

So much for my fun plan

So we didn't end up going to Glen Ivy yesterday. Scott decided to wait until it gets warmer. of course it was warm all week and yesterday it was overcast and cold most of the day. Oh well, Scott still got to do things he likes such as...

taking a nap with his girl. I think he also watched

every sporting event that was on television yesterday, hockey, baseball, college basketball(numerous games) and whatever else was on. I think he ended up having a good day.

Scott's parents brought a cake for his birthday to the BBQ. They got it from this bakery in town called Tasteful Cakes. It was fabulous! It was so pretty that I didn't want to cut it but I'm glad I did because it was SO good. The were two layers of filling and they were both fresh strawberries. FABULOUS! Just talking about the cake made me want some so i just went down and cut myself a piece. BAD, BAD, BAD!! This cake needs to go away so I won't eat it!

Happy Birthday my Love!!

Today's is Scotty's birthday! We are up bright and early (well for Scott 7:30 on a Sunday is bright and early) because today I am taking him to Glen Ivy, a hot springs day spa in town. It's not a surprise anymore because someone told him (You know who you are)! Just teasing it was still a surprise when he found out last night it just wasn't me telling him. Not a big deal. It has been beautiful all week here and I have been so excited to have a day just Scott and I and this morning I wake up to grey, overcast skies. What a bummer, it's even kind of chilly. I hope it doesn't last long. Gotta run, we're supposed to drop the kids off in 45 minutes! Pictures will come later...

Sorry for Rambling

I didn't mean to ramble the other day. Like I said, it was just one of those days! Ms. Kennedy is still sick today. Another day of not going to school. If Kennedy says she doesn't want to go to school then you know she doesn't feel good because normally she can't wait to get there. Here's what my girl wants to do today...

Hey, did anyone watch that new show that came on after Grey's Anatomy last night? I think it was called October Road. I liked it! But, Grey's Anatomy will always be me favorite! I do Heart

that show. I was so mad though because I recorded it while I was doing my homework and when I went ot watch it the end was cut off. It showed everyone waking up in the morning but stopped before it got to Izzie. WHAT HAPPENED??? I have to know!

Does anyone have anything exciting planned for the weekend? I know my mom does, lucky dog is in New York right now visiting my aunt. They have all kinds of fun stuff planned. Although I don't know how much they are going to get to do because of the big snow storm they are suppossed to get. Be careful ladies! We are going to have a crazy weekend as usual. I already told you it's Scott's birthday. I can't wait to reveal my surprise to him. He always suprises me with stuff and he tells me he has a surprise and won't give me any clues. He knows how much this TORTURES me and he loves every minute of it. Now the tables are turned honey! I also have lots of homework to do so hopefully I can get it done before sunday. Invitations, I have an order I need to make some samples for and have them packaged before the weekend is over. Hope i can get it all done! This morning Kennedy told me that she wants me to stop going to school. She told me she doesn't want me to do anymore homework so i can play with her all day. Awwww...that made me feel guilty. I'm really all over the place this morning. I think my mind is going so fast that I'm just writing whatever comes to mind. I have a tendancy to do this. We just got the phone call that our car is finally ready to be picked up. Who would have thought that when we took it in to have a new bumper put on it would take two weeks! Kennedy is upset because she is obsessed with our rental car. Here's what I have been driving for the past two weeks...

It's actually been fun to drive. Kennedy calls it "The car that's fun for all." She will go out in the garage and sit in it just because. She is so funny. When I told her we have to take the car back today she was almost in tears. "Why can't we tell them we want to keep it. I don't want to give back the car that's fun for all." I have a feeling it is not going to be fun when we drop the car off. enough ramblings for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

One of those days

I think that my shoulder just might put me over the edge! I went back to the doctor's today and he told me he thinks I reinjured it. Funny, I 've been trying to tell him that since New Year's. So I have to go back in and have an MRI with an arthrogram. Those are very pleasant, especially the part where they stick a really long needle in your joint and inject it with dye. Can't wait! Sorry if I sound so negative today. It's just been one of those days, Kennedy is sick , I got a grade back on a paper that I wasn't happy with, our car that was suppossed to take 4 days to repair from the accident is now not going to be ready till friday(not 4 days, 2 weeks) and I still can't go back to work. Sorry, sometimes I just need to vent and this is where I can do it. On a positive note, I do have the best husband and the cutest children in the world! They definetely keep me laughing! My Dad was very sweet and went to the doctor's with me today and afterwards he wanted to take the kids to McDonalds as a treat. My mom met us there and when we were done she said I see a belly (directed at Kennedy). Brendan turned around with a big grin on his face and pulled his shirt all the way up to show his big food swollen belly. He was so proud of that belly! I could not stop laughing!

Running in circles

I feel like that is all I've done the past few days. I don't even know what it is that we have been doing. Mom is on vacation right now and when she isn't teaching I think all we do is play. Between that and regular stuff like school and activities (by the way Kennedy is selling cookie dough right now for dance so if you're interested...)ummm...we haven't been home at all. Can I tell you that my son is starting to get bossy. I just don't know where he gets it from. So we were at Target yesterday and the only people in the aisle were Brendan, a Target employee and me. All the sudden he turns around and tells the lady "Get to work!" At first I thought no way! He did not just say that, so I asked him and he gave me the angelic smile and said "I don't know." Then he turned right back around and told her "Get back to work!" I was dying...I booked it out of there as fast as I could. Where did he get that from?!
Oh yeah, Kennedy has been pretty funny herself lately. The other night at dinner, Scott made a comment about something and she looked at him, kinda laughed and said "Daddy, you are SO random!" Now where did that come from? She said she learned it from me (Awesome). Do I really say that? Probably. So that has been the start to our busy week. Sunday is Scotty's birthday...he's going to be old...27! Ha! We'll finally be the same age. I don't like the 4 months of the year that I am older than him, that is not okay. He and I are going on a surprise date (which never happens) and then we are going to BBQ at mom and dad's. Should be fun, it's supposed to be a beautiful day! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Mush

That's what my brain feels like right now. I have been doing homework all day and I am so tired of writing papers and talking about enriched curriculum and methodial approaches to teaching. BLAH! It is such a beautiful day out today, in the mid to high 80's and here I am stuck in the house on the computer doing homework. Not that my family is doing anything fun. Scott is scraping our ceilings downstairs at the moment. Doesn't that sound fun! I know you all want to rush over and help! We haven't really done anything exciting this weekend, Scott worked, I did homework and the kids destroyed the house with all of their toys. I wish we had an extra room in the house so we could put all of the kids toys in there and if they make a mess I could just close the door. We had that at my parent's house and we never had toys in our room. It was fabulous. I think that will be a requirement in our next house along with a craft room for me!! Big dreams right! Uhoh I hear kid voices. that means naptime is over. Better get going! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here's a picture of the kids playing outside yesterday...

Kennedy has been studying countries around the world at school. Last week was China and this week is Mexico. On fridays they are allowed to bring thigns to share and since they are studying countries she decided to share her dress we brought her back from Mexico. What a cute little senorita she is!

My son, the donut thief

Okay, so Brendan was born with a sweet tooth just like his Daddy. Last week, while Kennedy was at school, he and I went grocery shopping and unloaded the groceries. The day before friends had come over early and the kids had donuts together as a treat. There was one donut left in the box and it was on the counter but pushed towards the back.

So after groceries I sat down on the couch and Brendan went in the kitchen, to color I thought. It was WAY to quite so...

Mommy: Brendan what are you doing?

(Silence)

Brendan: umm... I don't know

Mommy: Why don't you come in here with me

(Silence)

(30 seconds passes)

Mommy:Brendan what are you doing?

Brendan:umm..eatin cookie?

(could be a problem since we don't have cookies in the house)

so I stood up and started to walk to the kitchen when I saw this...

hmmm...what's really going on here

So I walked around the corner into the kitchen and the box was followed by this...

A whole trail of these across the kitchen floor.
This is going to be fun to clean up!
At the end of the trail was my son with THE BIGGEST GRIN on his face stuffing the chocolate donut in as fast as he could!


How could anyone get mad at a face like this!! When I was taking the picture i said "Brendan say donut"
Brendan's reply was "Donut...where?"

Wow! I can't believe I am actually doing this. I have gone back and forth for a while and tonight I just decided to do it. So here it goes! Hopefully this will keep the fam updated on my two fabulously beautiful and funny children because I am SO bad about sending pictures (or at least that's what I hear) which is weird becasue I take MILLIONS of them. I am also home a lot with them and although they are very fun sometimes I do not talk to another adult person ALL day until Scott (my husband) gets home from work. This is bad because I like to talk and he has to sit and listen to me and sometimes I see his eyes glaze over or wander towards the TV. So hopefully this will relieve him of the burden when I have days like that. I have to warn you, since I do heart taking pictures you will be forced to look at them and they will probably be of my children doing funny things like when Brendan was trying to put Barbie high heels on his foot and would not understand why it wouldn't fit. My husband is going to kill me for telling that story but oh well, it was funny! I'm sure he is not the first or the last child to do that! Okay I made it through my first post, sweet dreams!
