Something Important

I know many of you do not scrapbook but, in the scrapbooking "world" there is a very creative and inspiring woman named Ali Edwards. If you have heard of her, hooray! If not let me tell you about her. She lives in Oregon and is a fabulously creative woman. The reason I am talking about her is because her son is autistic. So many children are being diagnosed with autism and usually it is boys. she is participating in a charity contest. It is called six degrees and is being sponsored by Kevin Bacon. He was on the Ellen show the other day talking about it. How it works is a person, such as Ali E. can pick a charity they support and make a badge. People donate to this badge in her name. On March 31, 2007 the person with the most donations, not monetary but number of people, will be declared the winner. The top six winners will have a match made up to
$10, 000 to their charity. How great is this!! Everyone wins because even if you are not in the top six the donation from your badge will still go to your charity! I am spreading the word for this great event and if you feel like participating please visit www.sixdegress.org and visit Ali E.'s badge for Autism Speaks Inc. or you can access it through Ali E.'s personal badge at
http://www.networkforgood.org/pca/PersonalCharityBadge.aspx?pcaid=102379. I tried to post her badge but I guess I am not proficient in the blog thing yet. Thanks for reading about it and if you check it out you will be inspired by all the giving people around us!
