Shake your booby

Yes... you read it correctly. That's what my son was yelling in the cart at Target tonight. As he was yelling, a lady walked by and said "how cute!" Not so cute, did she understand what he was saying? I guess it's still better than "Mommy I found my butt crack!"

Oh where does the time go?

Does it seem like it was just Valentine's Day? I can't believe tomorrow is the start of June! My baby only has a couple of weeks left and then she will be done with preschool forever. How is that possible? Didn't she just begin. I really feel like it was just last week when Scott and I dropped her off for the first time. She did blow us off though. I do remember that vividly. I didn't want her to cry but she could have at least waved or something. TOTALLY blew us off. Oh well, she is my independent girl. Wonder where she learned that from. One could never guess!
On to the next topic. Tuesday I took the kids to see Shrek 3. Kennedy was so excited and she loved the part where the princess' "got tough" (as she calls it). Brendan made it 1/3 of the way through the movie when he started saying "Okay I done watch Shwek free. Wet''s go. Awl done. No more Shwek free Momma."That went on until the end of the movie until Shrek adn Fiona had babies. Now this is where Brendan is definetely like his daddy. The babies started to have gas and Brendan started laughing. The whole movie goes by and the only part he finds funny is babies passing gas. Awesome!
My excitement for the week was working in the yard yesterday. I trimmed the 2 big trees in our yard and the one that hangs over in our yard from the neighbors house. I ended up with 8 bags of branches and leaves. As I was working in the yard, Brendan played in the sand box. I looked over at him as he was dumping sand in his diaper. That was fun to clean up let me tell ya!
Oh yeah, do you know what his favorite new saying is....
"Mommy I found my butt crack"
Where did he learn that? Followed by...
"Mommy, I tickle my butt crack"
Fabulous! Hopefully he'll say it really loud and only when we are in public!
All right, time to wrap up. Kennedy's awake so that means homework time!

Long Weekends

Did everyone have a good memorial day weekend? We did at the Keen house. I did teach Saturday and Sunday but we still managed to squeeze in lots of activities. Yesterday we had the family over for a BBQ. Scott and I were excited because we bought new patio furniture yesterday. Not exciting for everyone but it was for Scott and I. I think Kennedy loves it the most though. she was sitting out there all night even if she was by herself. We are one step closer to having the backyard finished! YEA! Scott and Mike (brother-in-law) were happy men last night. Well, it would have been the perfect night but the angles got their rear's handed to them. Our house was loud and raucous and you probably heard them when the Ducks won.
It was very exciting although I don't know if our neighbors could agree with that! So everyone had full belly's after we stuffed ourselves with burgers, hot dogs, fruit, fresh green beans, baked beans and corn on the cob. Of course we had to finish off the night with smores because it is considered the Summer season now and what would summer be without smores! What did everyone else do for Memorial Day this weekend? Post it up and let us know, we'd love to hear about every one's weekend!

Soccer Star!!

Kennedy is officially a soccer star! On Saturday, she scored 3 goals! It was her first time scoring a goal in a game and she was so proud. She was telling everyone "I am so proud of myself." I didn't get to see them because I was teaching scrapbook classes. I was so sad. So we will see what she does next week now that she knows she can do it!
Last night we went to Kennedy's best friend's house for a BBQ. Her parents are so fun, we feel very lucky that Kennedy became friends with someone that has parents we like to hang out with. We had carne asada and smores for dessert. Does it get any better than that? Well, ya know the red wine we drank helped everything along (Didn't feel so hot this morning!).
Oh yeah, before I forget, I am so excited because Glen Ivy asked me to come back and teach the scrapbook class for two more weeks. So it ends up being 6 weekends total that I am teaching this class. I have had ladies ask me about doing private parties as well. Cross your fingers that they call to set something up! I have pictures to add to this post but my camera is downstairs and I am too tired to go get it so I will post them next time... I promise.

Season Finales

A little t.v. talk to start out with today. Can I tell you how much I love the show heroes! As always it did not disappoint on Monday night. Well, the beginning of next season was a little weird but I am so excited for it to start again! I also heard that next season they are going to have 30 episodes!!! How fabulous is that! Didi anyone watch Dancing With the Stars last night? We have to record it for Ms. K every week because she is the dancing queen. I was happy that Apollo won. I think he deserved to win. Kennedy came into my room this morning and the first thing she asked me was "Who won dancing with the stars last night?" She is a funny girl. She is also a voter. I dial the number the first time for her and then she presses redial until all her votes are used up.
Yesterday, we went to Disneyland with Kennedy's friend and her Mom. The girls had a great time together. They were so cute, we went on Small World and they had to sit together in the back row all by themselves. Kennedy thought that was very cool. Brendan was so funny because he was trying so hard to keep up with them but mean momma made him sit in the stroller. This Friday is Kennedy's art show at preschool. It should be very fun. Of course she is inviting everyone she knows to the show so who knows how many people will show up! More later...

Why is it that I have all of these amusing stories that show how funny and brilliant and Fabulous my children are and then when I sign on I can't think of any of them?! I always have all of these topics I want to talk about and I just draw a blank. I know one important one though...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOMMA!!!
Friday the 18th was her birthday and we went to P.F. Changs (her favorite restaurant) to celebrate. It was very yummy! My sister and I went in together and got her a Brighton purse with a matching wallet. It was very cute! Here is Mom after she blew out her candle (with her helper!)...

And this is Brendan singing happy birthday to Gigi...

Friday was a very busy day.
In the morning Scott and I went on a field trip with Kennedy to a horse ranch. She was way beyond excited about it. It was all she talked about for DAYS! Here is a picture of her petting a horse (he was 46 years old!)...

After the field trip my sister was nice enough to watch the kids while Scott and I went on a date. It was a bit of a romantic date. When you're married with kids those don't happen. It was funny because we were eating lunch and when we were done we just looked at each other. We didn't know what to do, it was like now what do we do? You forget how to act and what to talk about. It did turn out nice though. We went to Glen Ivy for the afternoon which for you non-southern California people it's an outdoor day spa. Here is a picture of part of our day...

We felt so spoiled because we had the cabana for just the two of us and while we were eating lunch they brought us a bottle of champagne. It was VERY romantic. We laid on chaises and relaxed then when it got too warm we went in the pool that was the perfect temperature. Then we do what most married with children couples do when they are alone....
SLEEP!
We fell asleep in the chairs by the pool and Scotty now has a burnt chest. We woke up just in time to get home and get ready for Mom's dinner. Ah, what a day!
Today was Kennedy's first official soccer game of the season. Scott was in a golf tournament with my Dad and I was teaching a class so my Mom and sister were nice enough to take her to her game. Her is a picture of the super star soccer player, Ms. Kennedy and she poses while playing goalie...
Okay enough babbles for tonight. Hopefully next time I will remember all of my witty stories to tell...

Happy Mother's Day from a bad mother

Happy Mother's Day to my mom friends! I know I am a little late but I taught classes all day Sunday and I was planning on writing a post on Monday but we had a little scare. Kennedy was at school and Brendan was playing cars in his room so I thought it was the perfect time to make reservations for my Mom's birthday. I went downstairs and got the phone book, dialed up PF Changs and was on the phone for about 5 minutes. I went back upstairs to get Brendan because it was time to pick up Kennedy and her best friend from school. He was in the bathroom on a stool with red stuff all over the counter. What the heck is that was my first thought. Turns out to be Children's Tylenol. Fabulous. It's all over the counter, in the sink and in the little cups you use to measure medicine. My insides are starting to get that panicky feeling and I ask him "Brendan did you drink any of the Tylenol?" "Yes" Panic ensues! I called Poison control and they told me if he overdosed it would cause liver and kidney failure. Rush to the hospital. Brendan drinks large amounts of charcoal. Take blood tests to test Tylenol levels. Results. Doctor: "There was no Tylenol in his system, he didn't drink any of it." ARE YOU SERIOUS! FIVE HOURS AT THE HOSPITAL! SCARED OUT OF MY MIND! I had caught him before he had drank any of it. He was just playing with it. How did he get open a child proof bottle?! So many questions, lots of hugs and kisses. Emotionally wiped would be a good description of how I felt when I got home last night. So my mind is not functioning like it usually does today. I am still kind of numb because Brendan took about five years off my life yesterday.
Mother's day... I worked all day. My husband was nice and had my car detailed for me. He was also a cute Daddy and painted Kennedy' fingers and toes for her. She was so excited!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I have been bad and I'm sorry...

I know, I know it's been a while. As usual, the whirlwind that is my life has been picking up speed. I have actually been so tired from it, that I have been going to bed before 12 o'clock. For me that is early! Lots going on and lots to talk about. Last weekend went as well as could be expected. We were expecting it to be slow and it was but the ladies that I did have in my classes were very cute. None of them had scrapped before and they were very excited. It was fun to teach someone that does not do scrapping on a normal basis. I was way more excited that I sold kits though. If people like the kit but don't want to sit in the class I am selling them and I sold 5 KITS in 2 days. I was very excited about that! Okay enough about scrapping. Ms. Kennedy had her kindergarten assessment on Monday (the 7th). Of course she is a smarty pants and they said she was definitely ready for kindergarten. I was a very proud mama! Tuesday we had a play date with a girl in Kennedy's class. We met them at Kennedy's favorite place for lunch (Panera) and went back to her house to play on this huge side/climber/water guns/pool play thing. It was very cool! If I would have known the family better I would have gotten on it too! Of course I forgot my camera so no pictures of the cool play thing. Last weekend we started tearing out the backyard and replanting and moving things around. My kids are over the top excited, especially Brendan, because Scott built them a sand pit thing. It is all Brendan wants to play in right now. Of course now there is sand all over the house because just when you think you have gotten all of the sand off of him there are more secret sand holder on his clothes that seem to empty themselves all over the furniture. Oh well, he has fun an that's all that matters! The other excitement in my children's life this week is kinda weird. A few weeks ago I found a cocoon when I was trimming my rosemary bush. I put the branch by the back door because I thought it would be cool for the kids to see the moth or butterfly hatch. They were so excited about it and checked it everyday to see if anything had come out. Well, the normal time period elapsed and nothing. I was starting to wonder what was going to come out of this cocoon. Well, yesterday we found out. The kids were playing outside I was sitting next to the back door talking to my friend Melody on the phone. I looked down and saw all of these green things coming out of the cocoon. I called the kids over and we leaned down to check it out and here is what we saw...

Preying Mantis' coming out everywhere! How often do you see an adult preying mantis let alone 30 + babies coming out everywhere. It was so cool. not only that, are you wondering what that blue thing is they are hatching on? Scott's shoe! He left his sandals by the back door and it became a bug nursery. The kids were so enthralled by this! I have to admit I was too. they were so funny though because they laid on their stomachs with their faces about 6 inches from the babies and watched them. I am surprised they did not have one that jumped on their face!

Last night, I registered Kennedy for AYSO. My baby is growing up! It was insane though. Of course their is only a two hour window that you can go to turn your paperwork in so when I got there the line had about 300 people in it. Fabulous! So mark your calenders, in the fall
Kennedy will be playing AYSO soccer. She is very excited!

Today, my friend Melody called me because her daughter Grace had an accident. She is the same age as Kennedy and when they lived here, she and Kennedy were buddies. Grace was at a friends house and her finger was caught in the door and she had to be taken to the emergency room and have it reattached. So I just wanted to say...

Grace you are such a brave girl and we love you and hope you feel better soon!!!!

Along with that excitement today, I took the kids to get Brendan's 2 year old picture taken. I know I am a little late but it's better than never! So here are my beautiful babies...

Brendan was so cute because the girl was trying to get m to smile by making weird noises and trying to tickle him. he was looking at her and you could tell he was thinking "Lady you are crazy!" So Kennedy and I tried to make him smile. The trick that worked.... saying "Big Daddy Vladdy! (plays for the Angels)" and "Swing the bat!". He would get a big grin on his face and say them too. Except when Brendan says it, it sounds more like "Big Daee Vwaddy!" Okay I think that is enough for the night. I am going tocuddle with my husband! Oh yeah, got a haircut today, maybe a picture of it tomorrow because I heart it!

Today's the day!

Okay, safe to say I am a little bit nervous today. Today is the big day. I keep having visions of me standing there all by myself and no one shows up ALL day long. I know that's not what is going to happen but what can I say, that's how my mind works. I post again tonight to tell you if my suspicions were confirmed!

Exploring

One of my favorite things to do is spend the day bring through antique shops. I got lucky when I married Scott because he Mom likes to do that too. So that is what we did yesterday. The kids and I picked Debbie up and we went to the circle in Orange. I heart that place. They have SO many stores there! It always helps to bring Debbie because she is the ultimate shopper. She can find things that I would never see. There were a couple times yesterday where I walked right by something and she would point it out to me. I was on a mission to find antique postcards. Turn of the century holiday postcards. Not only are they beautiful but I can make SO many things out of them. I love to make gift tags out of them. I found some deals yesterday, $2.00 a postcard! I am going to make some more so as soon as I do I will post them. I felt so disciplined yesterday because there was hobnail milk glass everywhere and since that is my favorite... but I didn't buy any! Okay this has to be short because I have to go pack some more kits for my classes. I start Saturday!!!
