Where do I even begin. I hate that life is so busy right now. I can't post my blog, I can't catch up on laundry or cleaning my house. I have been swamped adjusting to being back at work and school. Kennedy had her dance recital Saturday the 21st so we had dance practice 4 days this week which really threw us off! I did make time for one very important thing this weekend...HARRY POTTER!!!! I went and got the book Saturday morning at Sam's club and somehow I made free moments to read the whole book. I finished it this afternoon and I was so excited! I laughed, I cried and I love that book can do that to me. I love that they take me to another place, make me think and open my mind to other ideas that my brain might not have ever come up with (even if it is a children's book). That is actually the second book in the last two weeks that has made me cry. I also just finished The
Tanglewood Bible and it was amazing. It is definitely one of those books that brings out emotion in the reader. so back to Harry Potter. The last 1/4 of the book was so exciting with all of the fight scenes and turmoil that I was literally sitting in the edge of my seat while I was reading it.
So I have decided that it is hard to realize how great your life is until something changes. not that anything bad has happened to us but going back to work has definitely been a change for me. I haven't worked in over a year and before that I worked at night so I could be with our babies during the day. Now that I a working during the day (even though it is only part time) I am having a hard time adjusting. I am so used to waking up in the morning and the kids and I decide what we are going to do that day. If we want to play outside then we do, if we want to color or go shopping we do. Now that luxury of time is not there like it used to be. I knew it was going to come to this sometime because the kids were going to start school at some point but I guess I just wasn't quite ready for it. I know this all sounds spoiled because not everyone gets the luxury of staying home with their children but that's where the whole realize how lucky your are comes into play. I started this post meaning to catch up on all of the craziness in our life and here I am going off on a tangent (which is pretty normal for me).
So I will try to stray back onto the path.
I posted a couple of pictures from our weekend trip to San Diego. We had a great time!!! We went to Sea World the first day which was really fun because Megan and my BIL Mike met us for the day. The kids love their Auntie and uncle
Ikie so it was very fun for them! We went to Old Town for dinner that night and had great Mexican food. The next day we slept in and went to the Zoo around 11. The kids saw many animals and just had a great time running around. we ended up at Sea Port Village for dinner and spent the next day at the beach before we drive home. I don't think we could have crammed much more in during that long weekend!
My little leopard
Our boy was worn out and cuddled with his new Giraffe he named Big Daddy Vladdy (an Angels player).

One of my favorite pictures of the whole trip.

The week following consisted of homework, dance, homework and more dance and then some more homework! Then Saturday night Ms. Dancing Queen had her recital. she was so excited! She told Scott "You know there's this store called
Albertson's and they have this section where there are flowers. No one works in that section I think but you can go in and pick out flowers. they have these flowers that are red and white and they come in a skinny vase. You could pick them out and buy them for me but you have to go up to the cash register and buy them." What a girl! Only she could get away with that! Anyway, she was a fabulous dancing star and loved being in the stage. I think this may be just the beginning for our little dancer. She loved shaking her buns to their sing which was "Shake Your Groove
Thang". She looked so cute in her little Go-Go outfit. Here she is...

Before the recital...

After the big dance!

Brendan felt like he was in the recital too so he had to pose with Kennedy. We could not stop laughing because every time we tried to take a picture of Kennedy he would come over and pose next to her! Of course Ms. K had her entourage that came to watch. Gigi, Papa, Auntie Meggie, Uncle
Mikie, Grammy, Aunt Carolyn, Mommy, Daddy and Brendan were all there to watch her.
Sorry for the long post tonight! I guess I had more to say than I thought!
Have a great week everyone! Would love to hear what everyone else is doing this summer! Feel free to post a comment (hint...hint).
