Daddy Jr.

Here is Mr. B after waking up from his nap. He went downstairs laid in the chair and was watching Sportscenter. He is def. Scott's mini-me! Already in training to be a sports fanatic. When he woke up from his nap today he told me "I had a good baseball game. I played the Bluejays."
"did you win?"
"Ya, I won"
He even plays sports in his dreams.

So much to say!

I don't know where to begin. Well I do want to say I have figured out why I can never keep up on house work and no matter how much I pick up it always looks messy! It's name is Mr. B! As I was uploading pictures to my computer the other day, in 15 seconds he did this...

All my clean folded laundry was thrown all over the floor. When I asked him why he did it he said "Momma there were millions of them." Not sure what that was supposed to mean but he felt compelled to throw the laundry everywhere. This goes on constantly but it usually involves games, crayons, cars, coloring books, and other toys all at the same time. I guess I just need to accept the fact the it will be awhile before I have a nice looking house.

It has been awhile since I posted anything creative at all. My creative juices have not been there at all lately. I have not had time and because of that I haven't been feeling very creative. Well, I have but nothing made it out of my head. So my friend Melody saved me and asked for some invitations. I was forced to take the time out and be creative. Here are the results of her baby shower invites, I hope she likes them!

So yesterday was Ms. K's first soccer game and Scott's referee debut. He looked so cute out there on the field. How lucky am I to be married to such a great guy! He ref's games, he heps with laundry and he even helps my mom with stuff like moving furniture up and downstairs. So back to soccer. Ms. K scored the first goal of the game yesterday. We were very proud and cheered loudly.
Of course I was so busy cheering I forgot to take and picture and get it on video. when Scott ref's he is not aloud to touch the girls so he told Ms. K since he can't give her a high five of she scores a goal he would pay her $1 a goal. While we were getting ready for the game the following conversation occurred...
Ms. K: Daddy said he'd pay me a dollar for every goal I scored
Me: Wow! That's cool, what are you going to do with the money.
Ms. K: Well I am going to save all my money.
Me: for what?
Ms. K: for when I get bigger
Me: Okay, but what are you gonna use your money for?
Ms. K: to buy things
Me: like what?
Ms. K: you know, like hair products and stuff.
Hair products! Are you serious! Oh my goodness what am I in for.
I had all kinds of stuff I was going to talk about an now I can't remember any of them. Oh well, maybe next time! Enjoy your week!

Time to polish up the gun

it's happening already. Yesterday Ms. K came home from school and told me the little boy that sits next to her tried to kiss her today.
Ms K: Guess what Momma, c tried to kiss me today!

Me: WHAT! How do you know?

Ms. K: and I told Mrs. Burkett

Me: What did she say?

Ms. K: and I told my friend ____. And I was like "oh my gosh C just tried to kiss me."

(what is with the teenage talk already? She even does the hand gestures to go with including the hand on the hip)
Me: Well how do you know he tried to kiss you?

Ms. K: (eye roll) because he told me he was going to kiss me.

Great! Is this supposed to be happening in Kindergarten already?! I am not ready for this. I thought I had a few more years before this happened. Maybe I teach at the wrong school because at my school they don't want anything to do with each other. They still have cooties and stuff. AAAHHHH boys are trying to kiss my baby.

Life with Ms. K

the following conversation ensued Friday night while in the swimming pool as Kennedy floats on the noodle....
Ms. K: Momma, I wonder why Brendan doesn't like to swim?

Me: Well, the question is why don't you like to swim?

Ms. K gives me the look

Me: ummm.... what you are doing is not really considered swimming.

Ms. K: well, I like life

Me: What do you mean you like life

Ms. K: you know, the life

Me: no what do you mean

Ms. K: (as she lays back on her noodle with her arms splayed out) you know, like "ahhh this is the life"

only Kennedy!

We had a busy day on Saturday... birthday party, referee school (Scott is going to ref Ms. K's soccer games, how cute is that!) and Jon's baseball game. The kids had a great time at the game (Ms. K loves to cuddle with her Jonathon!) and they had fireworks at the end. So fun! Today we did a lot of nothing. That doesn't happen very often and now I am feeling behind but it sure felt good today! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I am no longer needed

to walk Ms. K to school. Today she asked me to drop her off in the drop off driveway. I told her we would park and walk one more day and she agreed. As we were walking she asked me to stop at the front gate because she could walk to rest of the way by herself. I was so not expecting that today. It's only the sixth day of school and she already wants to walk by herself. I called Scott at work an told him my heart was broken when she told me she didn't want me to walk with her. This is progressing way to fast for me.

Still adjusting

to this whole school everyday thing. Even though the kids are going to bed early (7:45) Ms. K still can't get up in the morning. It's a fight everyday. I hope it's not like this the rest of the school year! We have had some problems with her mouth this week. My Dad says Damn a lot and now Ms. K seems to feel the need to say it as well. NOT OKAY!!! The first time she got soap in her mouth and last night when she said it on the phone to my Mom I was at a loss because obviously the soap didn't work. So today, after she is done with homework, she has to write an apology letter to Gigi. Hopefully this will be effective. I don't have any pictures today because I have been so busy I haven't taken any. Shocking, I know, but I just haven't had time. I did get to go to the movie this weekend. That NEVER happens! Went with my Mom, sister and Ms. K and this is what we saw...
It was really cute! The stuff that was adult went right over K's head and all she could talk about was the singing and dancing. The reason we went to the movies is because I am a big dummy! For Mother's Day , Scott had bought 4 tickets to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert. We were supposed to go Saturday night (or so we thought). Saturday morning I got out the tickets so we could decide what time we were going to leave for dinner and the tickets were for Friday night. I started to panic! Ms. K was crying because she had been looking forward to going for months. Turns out they were playing for two nights and we had received the ones for Friday night thinking they were Saturday night tickets. Awesome! So dinner and a movie was our makeup event. Not quite the same but it was still a fun night.
Tonight, I have to go to a meeting for team managers for soccer. I'll get to find out what I got myself into. I have a feeling it's a lot! Not much else going on. Brendan is having a hard time adjusting to Ms. K going to school everyday. As soon as we drop her off he asks "time to pick sissy up yet?" So cute! Okay I'm off to design some invitations for my friend. I promise it won't be as long in between posts!

Am I ready for this and beware, I am bragging

I feel so spoiled. Now that school has started, soccer, work, dance starting soon and next month I will be taking a class again, I am feeling amazed at how much you can actually fit in a day. I feel spoiled because before everything started, the kids and I could wake up and decide what we wanted to do that day or not do that day. Now we don't have a choice. We are only three days in and I am already missing the carefree days. I know that's bad but what can I say, I am still adjusting. The good thing is Ms. K starts school so early that Mr. B and I can run errands and still have lots of time to come home and play.
So Ms. K had soccer last night and I was so proud of her. She is by far the tallest girl on the team. She is the oldest too. Last night I overheard one of the Mom's talking about the really tall girl and how fast she was. That's my girl! Not only that but, they played a scrimmage last night against each other and she made her team get in a circle and do a cheer before they played. It was SO cute! She was my little leader out there. Now I am starting to brag because I was so proud of her. She totally ran circles around her teammates. Literally dribbled the ball in a circle around the girls during the scrimmage and scored a goal. she is having so much fun and that makes me happy. This morning while we were getting ready for school she asked me if she had practice again tonight. Did I mention I volunteered to be the team manager (what was I thinking). Last night her coach told me I am in charge of making the banner that goes to every game with all of their names on it. I forgot that was part of the job.
Better run my son is pulling all of Daddy's clean clothes out of the stack and throwing them on the floor (sorry Hunny!).

so today was the big day...

the day my baby became a kindergartner. She was so excited this morning. When I got out of the shower she was laying in our bed with a big grin on her face. For once she didn't argue about getting dressed, brushing her teeth, doing her hair or anything. I did very well until we were walking out the door and I helped her put her backpack on. She looked like such a big girl, like she was ready to take on the world. I am not usually an emotional person and for some reason this whole school thing has really gotten to me. I am tearing up writing this. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!! Scott took the day off today so Mr. B, Daddy and I were able to take her to school today. We were there early so we had to wait for the classroom to open. She started to kiss all of us and then stood off to the side. Not too long after the door opened and she just started walking away. She is definitely my independent child. I asked her if I could take one more picture and she told me no. The nerve! When she turned to walk to class she didn't look back once. Just like her first day of preschool she blew us off! Imagine that. she didn't want all the mushy stuff she just wanted to get in their and start her day. I am so proud of her for being that independent person that loves to learn but at the same time that tiny part of me wants her to be my baby forever. I think that is something every mom struggles with and something we will never get over. Here is some pictures of my girly on her first day with her new outfit, shoes, underwear, hair ribbon and backpack!

My independent girl who is too cool to stand next to her Mom and Dad...

Yesterday we went and met her teacher and saw her classroom. I didn't post any pictures because I left my camera at my parent's house. So, here is Ms. K with her teacher and making her name tag that shows how she gets home from school.

Brendan was so cute, when we were getting out of the car at school yesterday he asked me "Mama, I big 'nough go to school too?" Awww....not him too. I am definitely not ready for him to go to school yet!

So after we dropped Ms. K off at school, Scott, Mr. B and I went on a date. Well actually Mr. B and I usually go on a date after we drop Ms. K off at school (once a week) but this time we let Daddy go to our secret date spot... the airport. It was a busy day at the airport. We ate our breakfast and went outside to watch five airplanes take off, two land and one get gas or as Mr. B calls it, "get pumped". Time to run...gotta get laundry put away before we pick up Ms. K! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Less than 2 days...

till my baby starts kindergarten. I have been okay with it so far until tonight. Grocery shopping for lunch stuff, getting ready to meet her teacher tomorrow, putting together the donation basket for her teacher and just talking about what's going to happen. Tonight she couldn't go to sleep so I told her she could read one book then it was time to go to sleep. When she was done she still couldn't sleep so I told her I would read the book she had just looked at. The book she picked could not have been more appropriate for my mood tonight. It was the story I read her as a baby. We would read it at least once a day and it reminds me of when she was the same age as Mr. B. Is anyone familiar with the book I Love You Stinky Face. If you have not read it I highly recommend it. I did get a little teary eyed as I read it to her but she made my heart met when she asked me if we could cuddle forever and ever followed by can we love each other forever and ever. Oh my sweet girl! I am going to miss her so while she is at school! Okay, enough mushy stuff from me. I am off to write lesson plans for this week. I'm leaving you with pictures of a face only a mama could love!
