Home feels nice...

It was nice to spend time with my family but I am glad we are home. We (the kids and I) are very spoiled to have a Daddy that works hard and that his job allows for me to be with our babies. This is where the disadvantage comes in. Since he works hard, he doesn't get to do all the fun things with us. We went without him this weekend and it was nice to come to his handsome face.

The kids had a great time with their Great-Papa and Great-Grandma. I am glad we made the trip up because they aren't getting any younger and grandma is having some (lots) of memory problems. We did have fun playing cards and just getting to visit. that is what my dad's family does when they get together, play cards. For the adults it is always rummy because that it what Grandma likes to play but when the kids play it is Fish or Old Maid. Kennedy was excited I took some pictures but not as many as I had planned on because I had to write a paper while I was there. We stayed at a newer hotel in Gardnerville and it was in the historical district, so you will never guess what I was surrounded by. Of course antique shops! I was in heaven just walking down the street. I had to settle for window shopping because my children didn't want to and there wasn't enough time. Here are some pictures of the kids I took on the side of the antique shop that was next to our hotel...

My cousin Brent has a backhoe and other construction type equipment at his house and he took Brendan over to ride in the backhoe. Well that was the plan anyway, when Brent started to engine it scared Mr. B and he wanted to get out. He did raise the arm of the scoop first. Once he was out and the engine was off he was very excited. He went back to my aunt's house, where the family was having a BBQ, and told everyone he rode the backhoe and it was cool! Little did they know!

So it's back to the craziness I call my life. We have to birthday celebrations this week, 1 graduation, school for Mama and soccer starts for Kennedy. I need a vacation!

Random thoughts

I have so much running through my brain to day so bear with me if I jump around a lot. First off I have to start with the fact that my husband is in trouble with Ms. K and I. Last night was So You Think You Can Dance. I tape it and then Ms. K and I watch it together. This morning while we were getting dressed I went to turn it on and lo and behold no show. What is going on I asked myself. "Hmmmm... honey did you stop taping a show last night so you could watch something else?" "Oh yeah, I forgot to start recording it upstairs for you, sorry." Kennedy face was a face or disbelief. I know to everyone else it's not a big deal but that's our thing!

So did anyone like to read the old Martha Stewart magazine for baby and for kids? I loved to read those magazines and took them apart to keep all the articles I wanted for future use. They don't publish this magazine any more but the other day I found a kids magazine by Martha Stewart. I haven't read it yet cause I am saving it for our car ride to Carson City but, it looks very similar to the old magazine. I am so excited and hope that it will be as good as the old one. I also hope it is a continuing magazine too not just a one time thing. see I told you I was babbling today. Oh, I have to share a cute Mr. B story. We were shopping on Tuesday and I was paying for my purchases. I had B sitting on the counter with me and he kept kissing my arms all over.

Momma: Where are all these kisses coming from, you never give me this many kisses

B: Momma it's cause I have ALL the kisses for YOU!

I know he won't say sweet things like that forever or give me lots of kisses in public forever so I cherish those moments.
I just want to end my babbles today with a picture of my most favorite cousin Jonathon Marshall who plays for the Fullerton Flyers in Ca. This picture was on their website. Ms. K LOVES her some Jonathon and we all like to go see him play.

Nothing new

to report in the home front. Normally I at least have a funny story to tell about the babies but not today, or maybe it's just to early to think about it. We will be off to visit my Grandma and Grandpa this weekend. Driving up to Carson City, NV. It will be a quick trip sans hubby. I will miss him. We don't like to be away from each other for that long. It will be good to see mi familia though. It's hard to make it up there but at the same time I want B to have a relationship with them and remember who they are because no one's gettin any younger! All right, time to get ready for work. Today's a long day... I have to work 4 hours! I am okay with this as long as I don't have to do it lots. I am still reconciling with myself over the whole gone during the day time thing but at least they are not at sitters! In fact I think sometimes they are excited that I have to go to work because they are going to Gigi's(my mom) house and today the will be spoiled because Gigi said to wear their pj's over. that means they will get pancakes or something else yummy. Hope everyone has a great day!

So much to catch up on!

Where do I even begin. I hate that life is so busy right now. I can't post my blog, I can't catch up on laundry or cleaning my house. I have been swamped adjusting to being back at work and school. Kennedy had her dance recital Saturday the 21st so we had dance practice 4 days this week which really threw us off! I did make time for one very important thing this weekend...HARRY POTTER!!!! I went and got the book Saturday morning at Sam's club and somehow I made free moments to read the whole book. I finished it this afternoon and I was so excited! I laughed, I cried and I love that book can do that to me. I love that they take me to another place, make me think and open my mind to other ideas that my brain might not have ever come up with (even if it is a children's book). That is actually the second book in the last two weeks that has made me cry. I also just finished The Tanglewood Bible and it was amazing. It is definitely one of those books that brings out emotion in the reader. so back to Harry Potter. The last 1/4 of the book was so exciting with all of the fight scenes and turmoil that I was literally sitting in the edge of my seat while I was reading it.

So I have decided that it is hard to realize how great your life is until something changes. not that anything bad has happened to us but going back to work has definitely been a change for me. I haven't worked in over a year and before that I worked at night so I could be with our babies during the day. Now that I a working during the day (even though it is only part time) I am having a hard time adjusting. I am so used to waking up in the morning and the kids and I decide what we are going to do that day. If we want to play outside then we do, if we want to color or go shopping we do. Now that luxury of time is not there like it used to be. I knew it was going to come to this sometime because the kids were going to start school at some point but I guess I just wasn't quite ready for it. I know this all sounds spoiled because not everyone gets the luxury of staying home with their children but that's where the whole realize how lucky your are comes into play. I started this post meaning to catch up on all of the craziness in our life and here I am going off on a tangent (which is pretty normal for me).

So I will try to stray back onto the path.

I posted a couple of pictures from our weekend trip to San Diego. We had a great time!!! We went to Sea World the first day which was really fun because Megan and my BIL Mike met us for the day. The kids love their Auntie and uncle Ikie so it was very fun for them! We went to Old Town for dinner that night and had great Mexican food. The next day we slept in and went to the Zoo around 11. The kids saw many animals and just had a great time running around. we ended up at Sea Port Village for dinner and spent the next day at the beach before we drive home. I don't think we could have crammed much more in during that long weekend!

My little leopard

Our boy was worn out and cuddled with his new Giraffe he named Big Daddy Vladdy (an Angels player).

One of my favorite pictures of the whole trip.

The week following consisted of homework, dance, homework and more dance and then some more homework! Then Saturday night Ms. Dancing Queen had her recital. she was so excited! She told Scott "You know there's this store called Albertson's and they have this section where there are flowers. No one works in that section I think but you can go in and pick out flowers. they have these flowers that are red and white and they come in a skinny vase. You could pick them out and buy them for me but you have to go up to the cash register and buy them." What a girl! Only she could get away with that! Anyway, she was a fabulous dancing star and loved being in the stage. I think this may be just the beginning for our little dancer. She loved shaking her buns to their sing which was "Shake Your Groove Thang". She looked so cute in her little Go-Go outfit. Here she is...

Before the recital...

After the big dance!

Brendan felt like he was in the recital too so he had to pose with Kennedy. We could not stop laughing because every time we tried to take a picture of Kennedy he would come over and pose next to her! Of course Ms. K had her entourage that came to watch. Gigi, Papa, Auntie Meggie, Uncle Mikie, Grammy, Aunt Carolyn, Mommy, Daddy and Brendan were all there to watch her.

Sorry for the long post tonight! I guess I had more to say than I thought!

Have a great week everyone! Would love to hear what everyone else is doing this summer! Feel free to post a comment (hint...hint).

Songs by Brendan

He is now quite the singer and has his own versions of songs such as...

It's the Dickey Dock (Mickey Mouse) clubhouse
come inside, fun inside

and

Ring round rosie
Pocket posie rosie
ashes
all fall down

Have to love being two!

Fell off the face of the earth

is what I feel like I have done. We have had so much going on between the wedding K was in and we had family in town, I started back to school this week, I started my new job this week and we still have our normal activities like dance. So I will try and play catch up as much as I can. I did take lots pf pictures at the wedding this last weekend. K was absolutely beautiful. Scott and I were SO proud of her! Not only was she beautiful but she was so polite and well behaved as well. I was one of those proud Mama moments.

K with the groom, Uncle Dave (her godfather)
We were all exhausted on Sunday and spent the morning doing the not so fun stuff around the house like laundry and cleaning. We went to my parent's house for a BBQ Sunday night so we could spend time with out of town family. That was lots of fun and then Monday was the start of school for me and work. I am loving my new job. I didn't think I would like teaching PE so much. It is really fun! I already have a nice tan working, imagine what I will look like in a few weeks. To bad my legs won't match!
After work and dance on Monday night we went to see m cousin play baseball. B was so excited! He is my baseball obsessed child. My dad caught a foul ball and gave to to him and you would have thought it was gold! He and K also got baseball whistles and K got a t-shirt thrown into the crowd. We had our arms full when we left the game.

This weekend is a busy weekend. Kennedy is in her godfather's wedding and tonight is the rehearsal. I will definitely post pictures because her dress is gorgeous. It is a replica of a bridal gown with a train and all. She told Scott all she needs is a veil and she can get married. Not the thing to ell your Daddy! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy 4th of July

We had such a fun day today! The heat was NOT fun but we still managed to partake in food, drinks and fun! We were invited by the company I taught scrapbook classes for to walk in the parade with them today in our town. We always watch it but this is the first year we have been in it. We had a great time handing goodies out to everyone along the route but I think the best part was seeing people we knew form school, dance and family friends. Here are the kids all dressed up for the parade...

We love this parade because you feel like you're in small town America. The parade starts with old bi-planes flying low over the parade route. There is such an eclectic mix that participate like church groups, girl scouts, business', vintage cars and my favorite, pets on parade and kids on parade (they get to decorate and ride their bikes, scooters, etc.). So much fun!! We had a sad ending to the parade. One of the women in the parade with us brought her dogs as mascots. They were all dressed up with a red, white and blue bandanna around their collars. The heat got very intense and they were given lots of water and had water poured on them as well (they rode in the back of the truck). When we got back to our cars on of the dogs (they were English bulldogs) died from heat exhaustion in front of the kids. It was very sad and Kennedy has been upset all day. They rushed him to the emergency vet but there was nothing that could be done. You were the best Rocky!!!

After the parade we had lunch and a quick rest at home before we headed over to my parent's for swimming and a BBQ (that we had to eat inside because it was too hot!). My mom also bought my dad a Margarita machine so we had to break that in too. Nothing like laying by the pool with strawberry margaritas!

Brendan making his funny face

The princess floating in the pool. Some of us pool loungers!
Capped of the day with a fabulous fireworks show, my favorite part!
Hope everyone's day was a great one! Would love to hear how you spent your 4th of July! Please share!
